GME GameStop) Short Squeeze

Anyone following or on this?
Price was at 40s USD on Friday, now looks like opening today above 300 USD....all on account of a bunch of Redditors starting a vendetta campaign against a hedge fund that had driven the stock to be shorted to over 100% of the available shares.
Assumedly Gaaaarlic Bread is all over it.

Darby if you believe he is being serious in that video then you will have to believe that.
What he did do was highlight that GameStop was over shorted at about 150%. He didn’t ever tell anyone to buy it and nor did he organise a pump.

I really think you should watch the video, considering that he's the guy that's driven the whole thing, and you were just talking about how much money he's made. Check out his investing techniques. No wonder he's made so much money.
I'm hoping we can avoid more WHOers losing their money in garrrlic bread style pump and dumps.

So what, Nicey? People who start pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes probably make more money than me too. Because someone made some cash through a get-rich-quick scheme doesn't make it a good investment. I'm sure you're not simple enough to think that?

Cheers Darby, yes i'm hoping to get out quickly if possible. It will probably be mayhem when the market opens though. I'd be well pleased to come out anywhere close to even so soon. Wasn't expecting that at all.

If you can make your money back, I'd definitely sell, charlie. That price is not sustainable.
Anyway, as I said earlier in this thread. Silly speculation mania like this is probably a sign that we're in a stock market bubble that could soon pop. Good luck getting your money back if that happens.

Interesting development in the Gamestop saga. Shares up 100% today and currently up another 50% or so in aftermarket.
I’ve got few, averaging $182, getting in a bit too late last month, then watching, paralysed, as it plummeted 75% to $45. Decided to hold, not really knowing what to believe anymore, and it didn’t really seem worth selling at such a loss.
So it’s back to $145 at the moment. Is this the squeeze or a false dawn? It’s quite a ride anyway!

What HH said, but in addition many shares are also held by nominee shareholders on behalf of the individual investor and those companies, such as Hargreaves Lansdown for example, will lend your shares for a fee without your knowledge. You can prevent this by amending your account preferences but many PIs aren't aware of this

So, surprise, surprise, this pump & dump scheme collapsed from $350 to $90 in a week.
The biggest surprise is that a bloke that calls himself RoaringKitty and dresses like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle may not actually be a financial genius.
